- To process your subscription payment via Stripe
- To sync your portfolio holdings from connected brokerages

6. Brokerage Credential Security
Pro users may optionally connect a brokerage account (Alpaca, Charles Schwab, or Interactive Brokers) to sync portfolio holdings to their watchlist. We treat these credentials with extreme care:
- Credentials are encrypted at rest using Fernet symmetric encryption before being written to the database.
- The encryption key is stored separately and never written to the database.
- Credentials are never logged or transmitted in plaintext under any circumstances.
- Credentials are used only to read portfolio holdings — we never use them to place, modify, or cancel trades.
- Credentials are deleted immediately and permanently when you disconnect the brokerage from your account.
7. Cookies
We use one cookie:
- Session cookie — set when you log in, used to keep you authenticated during your session. This cookie is essential for the service to function and cannot be opted out of while logged in. It is deleted when you log out or your session expires.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking cookies of any kind.
8. Children's Privacy
Filing Clarity is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at hello@getfilingclarity.com and we will delete it promptly.

Nothing on this website, in our emails, or in our API responses constitutes investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or a solicitation of any investment decision.
Filing Clarity is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission or any other government body.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email before any material changes take effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Filing Clarity after a change is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
